Quick Tip: Quick E-blast Lists
This often over-looked marketing technique can help bring life to your existing customer-base.
Not every business sees the value in email marketing (e-newsletters or, “e-blasts”) and that’s perfectly fine. We’re not here to tell you to go start a weekly newsletter (eh…) or create a daily company update but, having newsletter-like communication capabilities with your entire user or customer base does have some major advantages, even if you aren’t blasting out a weekly newsletter.
WordPress has some fantastic plugins which let you create robust email marketing workflows[shoutmeloud] and we highly recommend they connect to some of the best email marketing platforms available like, MailChimp[site], Constant Contact[site] or Litmus[site].
They help make sure you stay Canadian Anti-Spam compliant and also save you the trouble of creating email templates from scratch, a big win because all email clients like to display emails slightly differently. (This can drive you mad when creating email layouts for your newsletter and the Plugin you’re using requires you to copy and paste your HTML newsletter template into it - quick tip, Litmus provides free HTML5 based email templates[Litmus] that everyone should be using for better email communication).
Ideally you want to turn you existing WordPress user-base into the starting subscriber list for your marketing communications processes. If you have customers who recently purchased a product or service within the last 6 months, they can be directly added/uploaded to your list but if you’ve acquired the user’s email through any other method you’ll need to re-send them a verification to subscribe before you’re able to send them any info.
With that being said, there are several plugins you can use to help grow that subscription base around your website like Thrive Leads[thrivethemes] which has various subscription methods you can employ and connects to more Marketing platforms you can shake a stick at.
Using this and your initial customer base as the starting point, this should provide a solid base to start utilizing this avenue of marketing communication!
